Search committee questions

In a recent interview, I was asked 35 questions over the course of about 90 minutes. These are the questions:
  1. Tell us about yourself-- who is Ed Eubanks?
  2. How did you come to know Christ?
  3. What about our position description made you excited about considering our church?
  4. What are your spiritual gifts?
  5. There are two kinds of people-- visionaries and task-oriented. Where do you place yourself?
  6. What does church administration mean to you?
  7. Tell us about your personal organizational skills-- how do you keep yourself organized?
  8. Define discipleship.
  9. Are you being discipled now?
  10. What makes you squirm? What questions (in discipleship) are the most difficult to answer?
  11. What do you struggle with?
  12. Are you currently discipling anyone?
  13. On our scale for ministry skills (1-2=acquiring; 3-5=functional; 6=others come to you as a mentor; 7=expert, could teach on it) where do you rank yourself on discipleship?
  14. Of those you have discipled, have they caught the vision for what discipleship is about and are they dscipling others too?
  15. What is your passion?
  16. What have you done to prepare for this interview?
  17. Have you ever been to this area (where the church is)?
  18. What do you know about the area?
  19. If you get the position, what is the most important thing you can do for the congregation?
  20. Why our church?
  21. What is your experience with men's ministry?
  22. What is your experience with small groups?
  23. Using our scale, how would you rank yourself on teamwork?
  24. How do you work with others during times of conflict? Give an example of when you have handled it well and when you haven't.
  25. What is your current relationship with the person who left your ministry (follow-up on #24)?
  26. Tell us about ___ (high-profile person I have known)?
  27. Why do you want to be an Assistant Pastor and not a Senior or Solo Pastor?
  28. Are you pursuing other opportunities?
  29. Detail your perfect job description.
  30. What does leadership training mean to you, and where do you rank yourself (on our scale)?
  31. Given your bent towards academia and writing, how would you marry that with your job?
  32. What does Marcie bring to your ministry besides just being your helpmate? What is her passion?
  33. What is your experience with older members in the church?
  34. Tell us about _____ (a person from my reference list).
  35. Who is the best preacher in the PCA (our denomination) right now?
